  • Spinis...

Joseph has been having this crazy obsession lately, talking about "spinis" every so often. It's actually "penis" but he mis-pronounced it all the time, even after he's corrected.

He would start by saying, "Joseph is a boy, Joseph has a spinis. Papa is a boy, Papa has a spinis. Joanne is a girl, Joanne has not a spinis. Mama is a girl, Mama has not a spinis..." And he can go on and on and on... I'm just glad there weren't any strangers around whenever he started talking about "spinis"... Now even Joanne has caught his "bug", talking about "spinis" when Joseph started talking about it....

Papajojo was quite shocked when he heard Joseph talking about "spinis". He asked me who taught him the word and I said I did. He was surprised that I taught Joseph the proper term for that body part and said maybe should teach the name of that body part as another term, like "wee wee" or something. But I disagree with his idea. I thought it'll be better to teach kids the proper names of the body parts instead of some other terms so that they won't be confused when they go to school... Now will have to think of a way to stop Joseph from speaking out loud about his "spinis" in public...

  • It's Our 9th Wedding Anniversary!

Yup, today's Papajojo and my 9th wedding anniversary. Seems so long, yet as if it was only yesterday we said "I DO" to each other. Thank God for the past 9 years of marital bliss. Though there were moments of anger and frustration with each other, I'm thankful that our love for each other saw us through those scary, terrible times.

To my dearest Papajojo, I thank God for blessing me with such a wonderful husband. I may not be a perfect wife but you have made me a better one through the years. Thank you for your love and patience for me. I'll continue to put in my best effort to be a good wife to you, to make you happy and be loved, just as you're wonderful husband to me. :D

  • Updates

I haven't been updating my blog lately because I was lazy busy watching the latest Korean drama "Coffee Prince" on youtube. It's such an interesting and funny show. Would recommend it to you if you like romantic comedy type of shows. ;D

Last week, I was called into Joseph's Principal's office and had a talk with the Principal. She highlighted that Joseph was not able to pay attention in class sometimes and would disturb other children. He also does not make much eye contacts with the teachers whenever they talked to him. He also displayed aggresive behaviour towards some of his classmates. :(

Upon hearing this, my heart sank really deep... Really worried and wondered what's "wrong" with Joseph. It didn't help that Papajojo was away in USA at that time for a work trip. Couldn't have him physically around to give me emotional support... :'(

After talking with Papajojo on the phone, we agreed that Joseph tends to be curious about his surroundings and would not answer teachers' calls if he's looking at something interesting. Even though he doesn't make eye contacts when adults are talking to him, he's still able to understand what's said. As for his aggresive behaviour, it could be that he modelled it after some of the other kids who displayed that sort of behaviour. After discussion, we decided to put him back at the montessori center which he and Joanne had joined earlier. It'll be a better learning environment for him since the teacher:children ratio is smaller and the montessori environment allows him to explore his interest and learning at his own pace.

Thank God there's vacancy for Joseph at the montessori center so this week he started playschool at the center. And since Joanne has been talking about her playschool teachers ever since she left the center, we decided to put both of them back at the center together. From the teachers' feedback so far, both of them are adjusting very well back at the center. As for Joseph's social behaviour, the teacher said to give them sometime to observe and see if Joseph changes for the better after some time at the center. Thank God too that Papajojo is back so both of us can give each other emotional support and assurance that our son will be alright somehow.

It really makes me worried and scared that I'm not doing a good job as a mother, especially I'm a SAHM somemore... Such a huge and heavy responsibility, whenever I think that whatever my children turn out to be is largely due to their parents' influences and decisions made for them when they were young... Must pray hard and have faith that God will lead me and Papajojo the way to be good parents. Maybe like what a character in a korean drama said, "We may not be the best parents in the world but we're the parents who put in our most and best effort."
